The thermal diffusivity of some pressed powder strontium oxide (SrO) and strontium carbonate (SrCO3) samples has been measured from room temperature to 1400 °C in vacuum and in an argon atmosphere using the laser flash technique. The structures of the samples have been analyzed using a scanning electron microscope and a theoretical model has been successfully used to compare experimental data with model calculations.
