Vapour pressure of small silver particles of sizes between 80 and 130 Å has been measured and a significant size effect was observed. The displacement of the equilibrium is consistent with Thomson's law if silver is characterized by a surface tension of (1400 ± 140) erg/cm2 at (567 ± 1) °C.
