A method is presented for the computation of the surface–surface and surface–void spatial correlation functions from computer simulations of heterogeneous media. The method is illustrated with Monte Carlo simulations of penetrable spheres (for which exact analytical solutions are known) and of impenetrable spheres. Doi’s bound on the fluid permeability of a dispersion of impenetrable spheres is calculated.
