The monotypic jumping spider genus Tarne Simon, 1886 is redescribed from both sexes, based on material identified by its author, Éugene Simon. Type material is lost, but no neotype has been designated. New data on the distribution are given, along with drawings, digital images and scanning electron micrographs.
