Elastic neutron scattering experiments on single crystals of the solid solution Rb(1-x)CsxFeCl3 (x=0.05, 0.11, 0.26, 0.44) are used to study magnetic behaviour intermediate between RbFeCl3, which has a magnetic ground state (TN=2.5K) and CsFeCl3, which has a singlet ground state. Magnetic correlations are observed below 2.5K, with Q-vectors similar to that of the IC1 phase of RbFeCl3, changing to that of the commensurate phase on application of a magnetic field. The correlation of the moments in an applied magnetic field depends on whether the sample is cooled in the magnetic field, or cooled in zero field, as found in other random systems.
