This paper concerns the road profile deterioration. The road indices based on elevation PSD defined in ISO 8608 and EN 13036-5 standards are evaluated and compared with the International Roughness Index. The usefulness of road description in two wavelength bands (long/short) has been shown. The dependence of deterioration of asphalt/cement concrete pavements on traffic time and influence of initial levels of indices on road deterioration are examined. The deterioration rates statistics were estimated from hundreds of in-service road profiles. The differences in road residual life for considered road indices are calculated. The simulation results are compared with those obtained from references.
