The present article aims to contribute to the ongoing debate on gender mainstreaming in teaching in Spanish public universities. Despite the existence of a legal framework that requires the revision of content and teaching strategies to ensure their adaptation to the principle of gender equality, many studies continue to reveal clear barriers to compliance with the law. Beyond the rigidity of the university system, the lack of interest on the part of teaching staff, and the precarious conditions in which they carry out their work, we will also focus on the possible resistance or demands made by the students themselves. To this end, the results of a quantitative study carried out with undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of La Rioja will be presented. The analysis and interpretation of the data obtained will facilitate an exploration of the degree of interest aroused by these contents, as well as the relevance they are assigned for the future professional or researcher. The results confirm that, although the majority of students value these contents positively, there are still important gender biases and a greater resistance to their implementation among students in the legal and educational fields.
