The Gamma A photo-emission spectra of TiSe2 show two maxima whose assignments have until now been open to question. The possibility of surface states in the valence band regime is investigated theoretically. The complex band structure for the final states is calculated. Detailed consideration of the final states shows improved agreement of the peak positions with theory and clears up the assignment of one of the maxima in question.
