The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has accelerated significantly, yet its implementation in physical education (PE) remains relatively unexplored despite its potential to revolutionize traditional teaching methods and enhance personalized learning experiences. This article examines the barriers and facilitators influencing PE teachers’ implementation of AI technologies in their teaching practices, focusing on practical applications based on educators’ actual experiences. Three primary areas are explored: personal aspects (technological proficiency, teaching experience, and willingness to adapt), PE-specific considerations (curriculum adaptation and personalized learning opportunities), and systemic factors (professional development and institutional support). While PE's movement-based nature presents unique challenges for technology integration, appropriate infrastructure and sustained professional development can facilitate successful AI implementation, potentially transforming traditional PE teaching methods toward more personalized, data-driven approaches that enhance student engagement and achievement.
