Tentative exploration reveals a geometric interpretation of matter dominance in the universe, suggesting new avenues for investigation.
The observed dominance of matter over antimatter in the universe—quantified by the baryon-to-photon ratio η ≈ 6.1 × 10⁻¹⁰ —remains one of the most profound unresolved questions in modern physics. The Standard Model, despite its success, cannot account for the magnitude of this asymmetry. This paper presents a tentative, exploratory derivation of η from an alternative framework—geometric relaxation. In this framework, the matter-antimatter asymmetry is interpreted as the residual geometric strain of the universe after approximately 98.6% of its geometric relaxation has been completed. Using the geometric relaxation parameters ε_0 = 1.17 × 10⁻⁴ , ηdamping = 0.8 , and the current geometric strain ε(t) ≈ 1.34 × 10⁻⁶ , the framework yields η ≈ 6.7 × 10⁻¹⁰ , which aligns with the observationally determined value of 6.1 × 10⁻¹⁰ . This calculation is explicitly tentative and preliminary. It does not constitute a definitive resolution of the baryon asymmetry problem, nor does it claim to replace existing baryogenesis mechanisms. Rather, it offers a hypothesis for further investigation: that the matter-antimatter asymmetry may be a reading of ongoing geometric relaxation—the universe's residual strain manifesting as a surplus of matter over antimatter. The limitations and uncertainties of this approach are discussed in detail. (Note on AI-Assisted Computation Certain mathematical derivations and physical calculations in this paper were performed by an AI tool (large language model) based on the theoretical framework and postulate system provided by the author. Specifically, the AI tool contributed to: formula derivation, equation solving, integral evaluation, series summation, and recalculation verification of established quantum mechanical results. All physical insights, core assumptions, logical premises, and the theoretical framework itself were independently developed by the author. The AI tool served solely as an auxiliary instrument for mathematical derivation and computational verification, comparable in role to symbolic computation software or numerical tools routinely employed by researchers. The author has reviewed every derived result for physical plausibility, consistency with known experimental data, and logical coherence, and assumes full responsibility for all conclusions. This statement is provided in the interest of academic transparency, while clearly distinguishing between the originality of ideas and the auxiliary role of computation.)
