The methodology involves imaging Face IR Thermography using blood gas modulation-Hyperoxia and Hypercarbia. Drug challenge with beta blockers, Calcium blockers, Verapamil HcL and CarbamazepinePre and Post drug challenge. The Carmamazepine drug imaging pre-post hyperoxia case " Govindan, S. , 2008a. (The patient also had Rosacea) " -showed that the hyperoxia response was abnormal pre drug. Post drug did not correct the vasomotor reactivity response to hyperoxia in the face images. Carbamazepine made the thermal image findings from asymmetrical to symmetrical (along with pain relief) - suggesting the pre-capillary site of action. This evidence based case report provides an opportunity to study Rosacea pathophysiologycental sensitization_ and to image drug effect in Rosacea. The baseline blood gas modulation images pre-post hyperoxia and hypercarbia can help with Endotype classification.
