Phenomenological parametrization explores coherence's role in effective entropy and communication systems, suggesting new hypotheses.
This paper proposes a phenomenological parametrization for understanding coherence as an information-theoretic operator in communication systems. Coherence is defined as the structural alignment between emitter and receiver, and is hypothesized to modulate the effective entropy of transmission. The Durante constant κD = 0.56, empirically calibrated in prior work on structural coherence auditing, is imported as a phenomenological parameter representing the inflection point of a sigmoidal transition. The parametrization is offered as a conceptual framework for generating testable hypotheses, not as a derived theory. Its relationship to existing work in thermodynamics of computation and statistical complexity is discussed, and its boundaries are stated explicitly.
