ABSTRACT Using primary data collected in May 2024, this study examines factors associated with very satisfied clients among 639 US investors who use a full‐service financial advisor and have at least 250, 000 in investable assets. Within the sample, 68% reported being very satisfied with their advisor, while 32% reported being somewhat satisfied. Advisor qualities positively associated with very high satisfaction were caring about clients as people beyond their financial situation, providing peace of mind that clients are on track to meet their goals, appropriately engaging spouses and other family members, and interacting with other professionals used by clients. In contrast, several commonly emphasized service features such as addressing life planning, providing financial education, and offering unique investments were not associated with very high satisfaction. These findings suggest that among this sample, how advisors deliver services and engage with clients is more strongly associated with top‐box satisfaction than the specific services offered.
