Conceptual exploration reveals how nuclear stability relates to musical intervals in chemistry, suggesting profound connections.
What is music? Academically, it is mathematically organized vibration. In quantum physics, matter is also a vibration of standing waves. We assert that the periodic table is a musical score, where protons and neutrons are the notes, and the intervals between them determine the tonality of matter. The closer the n/pn/p ratio is to simple integer fractions (2:1, 4:3, 6:5), the ‘purer’ and more stable the nucleus is. Our task is to learn how to conduct this score through resonant tuning.
