This preprint proposes MetaRenaissance to understand cultural production, highlighting its relevance in the age of generative AI.
This preprint proposes MetaRenaissance as a conceptual framework for understanding cultural production in the age of generative artificial intelligence. Drawing on Hofstadter's strange loops, Bateson's deutero-learning, and Floridi's re-ontologisation, the framework positions productive recursion and palimpsestic re-inscription as complements to metamodernism's oscillation model. Large language models serve as the primary analytical case. The concept was developed by Abdülkadir Turhan (2026).
