Dianepsia hissa Meunier, 1899 Dianepsia hissa Meunier, 1899a: 162, pl. I, fig. 4. Dianepsia hissa: Meunier, 1904: 157, pl. XII, fig. 17, 18; pl. XIV, fig. 11. Type material. Holotype female #14485.VI.8325, lost. Neotype male GPIG BST02768 A (Z1447), here designated. Meunier (1904), re-describing the species, cited 14 males and 12 females, however, not all of them are conspecific. Male specimens 62 (Klebs collection), 288, 310, 751 and female specimens 74, 821, 906 (Königsberg collection) are lost. Specimens # 14425.VI.8325, 751, and # 62 figured by Meunier are lost. The quality of figures and descriptions is too poor to confirm the identity of the species. Specimen # 1505 (BST02770) figured as pl. XIV, fig. 11 was probably misnumbered in the manuscript; the figure depicts a gnat in a completely different position. Although the figured specimen is congeneric with other preserved specimens cited by Meunier as Dianepsia, it is probably also lost. To maintain nomenclatural stability, specimen BST02768A (Z1447) is here designated as the neotype. Description. Male. Body length 2.9 mm; wing length 2.2 mm. Flagellomeres cylindrical, length ~2× the width, apical 3× the width. Sc ends on C halfway between humerus and base of RS, Sc 2 preapical. Ratio of R stem to R 1 3:2. Ratio of RS, r-m and M 1+2 1:2:4. Base of cubital fork at the level of middle of r-m. Tibia 1 without distinct setae; tibia 2 with 11 ad and 9 d, tibia 3 with 9–10 ad and 12 d. Tarsi 1–3 with ventral setae, as long as tarsomere width. Male terminalia with 9 th tergite strongly convex, longer than wide, twice as long as gonocoxites, slightly narrower at apex, with shallow triangular apical incision, densely covered with long setae. Gonostyli short; ventral branches straight, directed medially. Other material. Besides the neotype there is another specimen in the same piece, BST02768B. The specimen is partially obscured, but apparently has the same shape of the 9 th tergite.
