The main objective of the study by Nicmanis et al. Their extensive umbrella review comprises 14 reviews, including 10 meta-analysis studies and four narrative studies. Eleven reviews addressed quality of life and three pertained to psychological outcomes. The cardiac devices that were studied included implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization therapy devices, subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, pacemakers, and one included multiple devices. The strength of this review is that the authors conducted a systematic literature search in adherence to the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The search was launched from the beginning of the database until 18 April 2023. The included studies were published from 2011 to 2023.
