Demonstrates enhanced current density in dye solar cells using ZnO/BiO3 photoanodes.
Solar cells are an energy harvesting device used to transform solar energy into current for many applications, domestic, services and industry. It is a field of research much looked after in recent years, due to the search for renewable energy. Dye solar cells use oxides as photoanode for this energy current conversion. This study synthesized a combination of bismuth and zinc oxide (4%/96%) and applied it in solar cells. The results for characterization showed grain size of 48 nm; high reflectance around 80% in the visible and band gap of 3.26 eV. The cells had a current density maximum of 5.6 mA/cm 2 .
