Quasi-experimental study demonstrates improved critical thinking and understanding in grade 10, highlighting effective learning media.
This repository contains the dataset supporting the study entitled "AR-Enhanced Flashcards for Virus Biology: A Design, Validation, and Effectiveness Study on Critical Thinking and Conceptual Understanding in Grade 10 Classrooms." The dataset was collected from Grade 10 senior high school students who participated in a quasi-experimental study evaluating the effectiveness of Augmented Reality (AR)-enhanced flashcards in learning virus biology. The study also included expert validation of the instructional media prior to classroom implementation. The repository includes: Raw and processed student data. Pre-test and post-test scores for critical thinking skills. Pre-test and post-test scores for conceptual understanding. Expert validation results for the AR-enhanced flashcards. Data coding and variable descriptions (data dictionary). Supporting documentation for data interpretation. The dataset can be used to reproduce the statistical analyses reported in the associated manuscript, including descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, normality testing, ANCOVA, N-Gain analysis, and effect size calculations. All participant data have been anonymized to protect privacy. No personally identifiable information is included in this repository. This dataset is intended for researchers, educators, and learning technology developers interested in augmented reality, biology education, science education, critical thinking, conceptual understanding, and digital learning media.
