Develops a program to enhance paternal involvement in perinatal care, suggesting improved maternal and neonatal health outcomes.
Paternal involvement remains under-supported in Indonesian primary healthcare during the perinatal period. Using design thinking and a qualitative descriptive approach, we co developed the Perinatal Mindful Education Program (PRIME). Fifteen expectant fathers participated in PRIME classes and semi-structured interviews between July and August 2025. Thematic analysis generated three themes: promoting fathers’ involvement, addressing stigma through father inclusivity classes, and fostering holistic well-being. Findings suggest that PRIME is a feasible, human-centered for enhancing paternal engagement and supporting maternal and neonatal health across the perinatal continuum.
