Demonstrates the creation of hybrid frameworks with unique properties using inorganic and organic components, suggesting innovative materials for applications.
Inorganic‐organic hybrid frameworks have been developed by using Keggin‐type polyoxotungstate anions. As cationic partners, primary ammonium surfactants with two hydrophilic heads in one molecule, so‐called bolaamphiphiles, have been utilized to construct inorganic‐organic hybrid networks of polyoxotungstate. Most polyoxotungstate‐bolaamphiphile frameworks possess three‐dimensional architectures formed by the short contacts between each polyoxotungstate anion. The spaces in the three‐dimensional architectures of polyoxotungstate anions are filled with bolaamphiphile cations and crystallization solvents. Some polyoxotungstate‐bolaamphiphile hybrid crystals exhibit chromic property under X‐ray irradiation.
