The generation of supercontinuum (SC) in highly nonlinear fibers pumped by noise-like pulses with linear frequency modulation is demonstrated. The zero-dispersion wavelength λzwd of the nonlinear waveguides varied in the range of 1.48–2.3 µm. A fiber ring laser with passive mode locking based on nonlinear polarization rotation was used as the pulse source, generating linear frequency modulation noise-like pulses with an optical spectrum width of 15 nm at the −3 dB level. During amplification, the energy of noise-like pulses reached 277 nJ. Supercontinuum generation with an optical spectrum covering the range from 1104 to 2123 nm was obtained at the output of a 3-meter-long highly nonlinear fiber with a zero-dispersion wavelength of 1.48 µm.
