Qualitative study explores eczema's emotional burden in Inuit communities, highlighting a need for supportive care.
In a qualitative study of 63 Inuit participants across four Nunavik communities, we used focus groups and the Social and Emotional Wellbeing framework to examine eczema's emotional burden. Participants described chronic distress, shame, and withdrawal shaped by stigma, systemic racism, and fragmented care - alongside resilience grounded in family, community, and tradition. Findings call for culturally safe, trauma-informed dermatologic care with continuity, empathy, and community-led supports.
