Evaluates new remote-simultaneous selection system for elite paddle sports, suggesting significant performance improvements.
The current selection system for national and Olympic representatives in paddle sports (Kayak Sprint) suffers from structural inefficiency. Overlapping territorial representation logic, thermal and bathymetric inadequacy of historical race venues, and overcrowded starting grids (8–9 lanes) introduce high levels of "hydrodynamic and physiological noise." This paper proposes a completely renewed paradigm: a Remote-Simultaneous Selection Protocol based on a Dual-Conference System. Founded on the binding rule of boat uniqueness per athlete (1-1-1), the elimination of preliminary rounds (a single direct-final race for the Top 8 in the ranking), and the algorithmic neutralization of ambient micro-variables via GPS-RTK, this model ensures maximum performance equity, safeguards neuromuscular health, and respects the ethical-proprioceptive dynamics of team boats.
