The high-temperature portion of the staging phase diagram of the intercalation compound AgxTiS2 (0<or=x<0.4) has been obtained. It contains a stability region of stage 2 which on the high-x side undergoes an apparent first-order transition to a high-density stage 1 phase but on the low-x and high-T sides proceeds continuously, through stage disordered states, to a dilute stage 1. At sufficiently high temperatures a novel coexistence of the two stage 1 phases is observed. The results are compared with recent theoretical models.
