A unified treatment is presented of the effect of both linear and nonlinear imperfections in an operational amplifier on the frequency response of a bandpass multiple‐negative‐feedback active filter. Linear computer models and describing‐function techniques are used to evaluate performance for comparison with measurements. The critical peak‐input voltage to avoid jump resonance is derived and performance limits illustrated on a Q –frequency plane.
