RECENT fluorescence studies [Peacock, 1936], in which fluorescent samples of bile were obtained after intravenous injection of colloidal solutions of certain polycycic aromatic hydrocarbons (1:2-benzpyrene, methylcholanthrene and anthracene) into fowls, rabbits, guinea-pigs and mice, raised the question of the presence of these compounds in such samples of bile and in the rest of the animal.
