In the very strong light-matter coupling regime, the excitons in a semiconductor are intrinsically modified by the photon modes in a microcavity. A magnetic field can probe and manipulate these changes in exciton-polaritons. Here, the authors develop a microscopic theory for excitons and polaritons under strong magnetic fields in the specific case of transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers. Numerically exact solutions reveal critical deviations from perturbative models and are employed to estimate light and magnetic field effects on the particle interaction strengths.
