A ∕polyaniline (PAni) composite was prepared from a pyrolysis reaction reported previously and further coated with a conducting polyaniline- film. Electrochemical behavior of the composite is dominated by Si-insertion hosts, which bring large capacities of . The PAni film is inactive to lithium and effective in suppressing porous augmentation and morphological deterioration from the pyrolyzed upon repeated charge∕discharge. Especially, it may fasten the interface to sustain good electron contacting. Such a microstructure can hold good mechanical integrity among different components and tolerate volume-change (breathing) from silicon successfully. Consequently, superior cyclability over that of an uncoated composite is feasible.
