Purpose: Chorioamnionitis is reported in 3-10% of term pregnancies and is one of the most common neonatal sepsis risk factors for neonatal sepsis evaluation. One of the common markers used to evaluate EOS is C-reactive protein (CRP), an acute phase inflammatory marker. Over the last decade, use of HS-CRP in place of R-CRP has significantly increased, at best due to theoretical extension from adult studies.
