Nuclear magnetic resonances of 125 Te and 77 Se have been observed in single crystals of tellurium and selenium, respectively. They consist of three resonance lines, each of which shows a highly anisotropic chemical shift. The anisotropy of the chemical shift has been investigated in detail. Especially in the case of tellurium the difference in the anisotropy has been made clear between the right and the left‐handed crystals. The chemical shift tensors of tellurium and selenium are determined from the experimental results.
