Background: Advances in technology have created novel opportunities for capturing, delivering, and sharing data electronically. When optimized, these techniques can promote quality health care. Mobile health applications (apps) address an unmet need by providing a data sharing system that does not require intensive face-to-face interactions. Many patients want these apps to support self-care efforts. However, few apps have been designed with the end-user in mind. Informed by our prior qualitative research, we developed a user-centered app on an Apple iPad for patients undergoing HCT.
