Facilitated dπ−pπ* Transition in a Novel Organoboron π-Conjugated Polymer Including a Ruthenium−Phosphine Complex

A facilitated dπ−pπ* transition was observed in a boron−ruthenium conjugated system prepared by hydroboration polymerization between mesitylborane and a ruthenium−phosphine complex containing tetrayne. In the UV−vis absorption spectrum of the obtained polymer, the absorption maximum of the MLCT band (dπ−pπ* transition) was highly bathochromically shifted by 141 nm relative to that of the tetrayne monomer.
