Announces $100k prize for top Acta Physiologica paper; leaves open effects on cardiovascular submissions.
It is with pleasure that the Scandinavian Physiological Society announces a $100 000 (one hundred thousand US Dollars) award for the best article published in Acta Physiologica during the last two years. $50 000 of the award is a personal award to the authors, whereas the remaining $50 000 is allocated to support your research. The Scandinavian Physiological Society, as the owner of our Journal, sponsors the prize in recognition of the steadily increasing attention Acta Physiologica has been receiving.1, 2 The awarding ceremony includes a plenary lecture at the Europhysiology Meetings, such as in London, 2018 as well as a grand banquette. The journal already grants two very prestigious awards, the Carl-Ludwig Prize for an upcoming young investigator and the von Euler Award for a senior investigator. The last Carl Ludwig Prizes were awarded to Karppinen,3 whereas the von Euler Awards were received by Johns and Halim.4-6 For several years, Acta Physiologica's impact factor has been well beyond 4,7 which reflects our very high Journal ranking brought about by upkeeping further development of the journal.8-10 What is more, downloads to individual articles published in Acta Physiologica have more than doubled over the last decade (see Fig. 1). Perhaps you and your colleagues will be the first to receive this prize? Acta Physiologica publishes roughly 95 original articles p.a. The editors of Acta Physiologica will identify the most popular article. The selection takes place by a three-tiered procedure. For details, please refer to the Acta Physiologica Homepage. Nominations are welcome, but not required. We very much look forward to awarding the best article of the years 2016 and 2017, and wish you the best of luck! PS. Did you know that None.
