The angular distribution of γ-radiation from nuclei aligned at low temperature is given as a series of Legendre polynomials, I (θ) = 1 + σ K A K ( T ) P K (cos θ) the A K being temperature dependent. The formulation is applicable to cascade processes of arbitrary multipole orders and nuclear spins. An approximation valid for low degrees of alignment is given, as is the angular distribution from completely aligned nuclei. Application is made to 60 Co.
