The observation of the upper turnover frequency for the 1/f noise spectrum in germanium filaments has been corroborated as well as the dependence of its value on sample ambient and temperature. Its value is also found to be dependent on aging of the sample. A theoretical explanation of the results is attempted based on a 1/f noise theory developed by one of the authors. This theory is amended here so as to apply to near-intrinsic semiconductors.
