Predictive ephemeris identifies transits of TIC 768070.01, suggesting direct test in 2026.
TIC 768070.01 is a long-period (∼365 d) transiting candidate around the SB1 star TYC 6472-819-1, observed in three TESS sectors. Using only Sectors 5 and 32, I recovered the subsequently observed Sector 98 transit at BTJD 4001.434 (+6.74 h versus −35.1 h for the tropical-year alias). The proposed ephemeris is further supported by an O–C fit and BLS/TLS period searches. Centroid shifts and difference-image analysis are consistent with an origin within the SPOC photometric aperture. The next predicted transit on 2026 November 21 (BTJD 4366.3 ± 0.18 d) will provide a direct falsifiable test of the ephemeris, and radial-velocity observations remain necessary to determine the nature of the companion.
