Synthesis of (Ba, Pb) (Zr, Ti)0 ₃ Solid Solution Having No Compositional Fluctuations

A method was developed to determine compositional fluctuations in a (Ba, Pb) (Zr, Ti)O, solid solution which can exhibit two types of fluctuations. The solid solution prepared by an ordinary dry process undergoes large compositional fluctuations in both the Ba, Pb site and the Zr, Ti site. However, solid solutions prepared by solid‐solid reaction between coprecipitates of Pb 2+ and Ba 2+ and coprecipitates of Zr 4+ and Ti 4+ showed no compositional fluctuations.
