A circular perfectly conducting disk is one of only a few 3-D geometries amenable to exact electromagnetic analysis. In this communication, the currents induced on the disk by an incident plane wave are used to study the accuracy and convergence of numerical boundary element techniques that incorporate singular basis functions. It is shown that the use of singular basis functions improves the accuracy of the results compared to a conventional polynomial expansion.
