A biogas burner is a device designed to burn biogas as its primary fuel, mainly to create a controlled flame for purposes such as cooking and heating. There is a scarcity of research focused on enhancing efficiency by employing multilayer heat retention methods and incorporating composite materials to improve the thermal efficiency of stove shielding components. This study aimed to improve the thermal efficiency of a biogas burner by integrating a multilayer shielding technique. This technique employs cone-shaped clay covered with mineral insulation and steel. The Water Boiling Test protocol evaluated the stove’s performance under consistent dome pressure and flow rate at varying loading heights (2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, and 4.5 cm). The results indicate that the optimal loading height is 3.5 cm, resulting in a 16% increase in thermal efficiency compared with the conventional design, achieving 73% efficiency and an average power output of 1.4 kW. The developed stove was also found to meet the Indian Standard IS 8749:2002.
