An efficient nanoporous adsorbent for Hg ²⁺ and Pb ²⁺ ions in water has been rationally synthesized from the interaction of aqueous NaH ₂ C ₃ N ₃ S ₃ and Na ₃ C ₃ N ₃ S ₃ solutions. This adsorbent exhibits excellent adsorption capacity and selectivity as well as superior recyclability.
