An expression for the cubic and quartic anharmonic contributions to the specific heat of the monatomic face-centered and body-centered cubic crystals with nearest neighbours, central force interactions, is given in the high temperature limit, in which the effect of the thermal expansion is included. It is applied to the rare-gas solids, copper and sodium. The results are in excellent agreement with the experimental values.
