A thermal-sensitive liquid-based thermoelectric converter is developed with the use of ionic liquids. Ionic species influence the Seebeck effect owing to their distinct desorption abilities from metallic electrodes. Owing to the intrinsic advantages of liquid materials, ionic liquids are exploited to fabricate high-level energy converters with abilities of flexibility, self-healing property, and photo-thermo-electric conversion.
