In this work, we have investigated structural and electrochemical properties of novel nanostructured double perovskite Y 2 ZnNiO 6 . It has been synthesized by using the hydrothermal method. The structure of the material is investigated by using X‐ray diffraction, high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. It has a cubic structure (Ia (206) with an average grain size of ∼90 nm. For nanostructured double perovskite Y 2 ZnNiO 6 electrode, the deviation of the GCD curves from linear charge–discharge profiles confirms a faradaic charge storage process in KOH electrolyte solution. It exhibits a capacitive contribution of 38% at a slow scan rate of 10 mV s −1 and achieved the specific capacitance of ∼110.61 Fg −1 at a current density of 0.5 Ag −1 in three‐electrode assembly. It has exhibited excellent capacitance retention of ∼96.17% after 10,000 charge–discharge cycles.
