It is essentially a diffuse vascular disease involving the small vessels of the skin and viscera, although recent studies1 in which fibrinoid degeneration and sclerosis of the collagen are described as the fundamental change in lupus erythematosus indicate that the concept of a diffuse disease of the peripheral circulation can no longer be entertained without question.Hebra,2in...Bibliography1. CURTIS et al. (1949) conducted a case report in Disseminated lupus erythematosus with pericardial effusion. Disseminated lupus erythematosus was evaluated on Pericardial effusion and visceral/cutaneous manifestations. Disseminated lupus erythematosus is described in this case report as a syndrome presenting with pericardial effusion, fibrinoid collagen degeneration, and diffuse vascular involvement.
