Rapid SFLS Synthesis of Si Nanowires Using Trisilane with In situ Alkyl-Amine Passivation

A high-throughput synthesis of crystalline silicon nanowires is reported using trisilane as a reactant with colloidal gold nanocrystals in a hot organic solvent. Nearly 80 mg of nanowire product is obtained in a 1 min reaction from a 10 mL reactor volume. Dodecylamine surface passivation is also demonstrated.
