THE Nitrogen Tillage Residue Management (NTRM) model was evaluated as a means of predicting moisture movement, matrix potential and nitrate con-centrations following land application of wastewater. The mass transport of water and nitrogen and the nitrogen transformations within the soil profile were measured in loamy sand and clay loam soil columns. Moisture movement, matrix potential and nitrate con-centrations were compared between the model and ex-perimental results.
