Monitoring of forest fires on the territory of the Siberian Federal District revealed that over the past decades the number of fires in the region has increased and their areas have doubled. The largest number of fires occurs in the areas of taiga and forest-steppe. The main causes of fires were anthropogenic, associated with the growing economic and recreational development of forest territories by the population.
