Low vision elderly clinic patients (n = 63) reported participation in 6 categories of leisure activities currently and at onset of vision loss. Significant declines were reported in 5 of 6 activity categories. Age was unrelated to participation in any activity, whereas prior activity participation was related to current participation only for active crafts, participatory sports, and social activities. These findings have implications for understanding how people cope with disabilities in aging.
