SYNOPSIS This paper presents a review of the main studies carried out on ejectors and their applications during the period of 1995 to the present. The performance of ejectors has been carefully considered theoretically and by experiment. It is necessary to avoid damage to the environment when using the natural working fluids. The use of water, halocarbon compounds and working pairs such as LiBr-H2O are reviewed. Applications of heat sources, e.g., solar energy, and low-grade energy have been studied. This includes the use of combined systems, including a solar-powered ejector refrigeration system, an absorption ejector hybrid refrigeration system, an adsorption-ejector system, and an ejector/mechanical compressor system.
